Show and Tell - Route 66

There is a little town called Arcadia, OK about 10 minutes from our home. This tiny little town is known for a convenient store on the side of Route 66. This little place is called Pop's. They have literally over 500 different kinds of bottled pop. William and I go there every once and a while and get a mix and match assortment of 6-12 pops. Here are some pictures of this "landmark" on Route 66.

Oh, wow. That is awesome!

I especially love the photo with all the pop bottles, the colors are so rich!

What a great S&T!

*By the way you might want to add your link again to the S&T post...I clicked on it and it took me to Stirrup Queens! (I did a search to find you on the blogroll)

Ha! I knew I wasn't the only one that calls it pop! Vindication! Thank you!

Pop! I haven't heard that word in years. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, where everyone used the word. Sadly, down south, where I now reside, every flavor is simply referred to as "Coke." Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

How cool! I have always thought it would be neat to visit some of the Rte 66 landmarks that are left.

Very cool! I wonder, would they possibly have 'Tahiti Treat'? I was thinking about that pop the other day... I haven't had it or even seen it anywhere since I was about 10 years old.

Cool! I love Route 66, too, btw! Am also wondering the same thing as a previous poster: Tahiti Treat? (Yummy!)

I live in Rochester, NY and we call soda "pop" as well. Until I went to college I didn't realize it was a colloquial phrase. For along time I called it soda. Now I am happy to call it Pop once again. That bottle looks like a fallic symbol. I don't know why that was the first thing I thought of.

What cool pics! I grew up in Ohio calling soda "pop," but then went to school in the south and changed to "soda." Now I can't seem to go back--but I love Pops! The photo with all of the bottles lined up on the shelves is beautiful.

That reminds me of the Pop Shoppe we had when I was a kid!

But much cooler. And neon-er.

What a neat place! I would go crazy in a store like that. I love that it is on route 66, too. My mom grew up in a town along route 66, so I have fond memories of it. :-)

Hi Mrs. Moore! Thanks for the comment on my blog- I will be watching you too. ;)

You live near my sister in law and father in law and grandparents-in law. They live in Norman, Edmond and OKC. You are close by, yes? I am from Seattle, so don't know OK.

Best of luck to you and I love your new socks. :)

Hugs,
Carrie
