Quick fly by post to those who adopted or are in the process.

Do you have a post on your blog about how you decided to start the process, or how the process started? How did you feel towards IF during the process?

And if you suffered losses, was it easier (never forgotten) to deal with?

I'm just looking for some information and a good read. I'm too young for most agencies so just looking into learning more.

I don't have a post about it, but i can tell you that the sting of IF never goes away, it just stings less. i was pg three times, not able to stay pg. We did an IUI that worked but ended in m/c the night of my 10 year high school reunion. FOUR months later, we got Kaleb straight from the hospital. I still feel sad when i see pg bellys or when someone tells me they are pg and i have FOUR kids. BUT... I get to be a mommy and I have all the rights and privlidges that go along with Mommydome. :) We could have contunies with fertility treatments that MIGHT work, or used that money to adopt KNOWING that we would eventually get a LIVE baby. I LOVE all of my kids, but the baby stage is soooo wonderful especially if you can't do it yourself. The baby showers, the oooo's and ahhhh's of everyone. :) All i missed was the pg-c. :)

OMG WHAT IF we ended up ADOPTING together instead of getting pregnant together? I'm pretty sure that would be just as freaking fantastic!!!!!!

I did at one time look into adoption. I found it was even more expensive than I had imagined. We could get a loan, but still needed $5000 (must be in CASH) before they would consider us. After fertility treatments, we were in the poor house! So we began saving, little by little. Luckily we didn't need to go that route. Adoption has so many factors-do you want an infant, international or domestic, willing to travel out of state, open or closed, etc. Don't be afraid to call places, email, ask around. They will happily send you lots of info. Ask people you know, that live near you. Friends, family, churches, etc. They can be a huge help.

Hi, Ellen.

I told my IF/adoption stories on one of my blogs. You can see the IF parts at
http://drama2bmama.blogspot.com/search/label/infertility

(read from the bottom up)

...and continue on through our 2 adoptions, if you like.

Let me know if you have any questions for me. I'm happy to help!
